Chieftain Ravel

Ravel is a 100% polyester, high-performance fabric in a range of bright vibrant colours.

It is highly engineered and is suitable for the most demanding of environments. With both a waterproof backing cloth and a water-repellent fabric surface, Ravel will stand up to tough conditions. Ideal for upholstery in high-traffic areas this modern fabric will withstand the toughest of conditions.

Ravel can withstand 100,000 rubs from a Martindale Machine without damaging or marking the top layer of the vinyl. This makes Ravel suitable for all high traffic, heavy duty areas.

This range is suitable for all contract upholstery both indoor and outdoor.

Source 5 (Crib 5) is related to upholstery and furniture coverings, and is related to BS 5852. Our Ravel range meets the British Standards fire regulations for the contract market.

At the end of our products life cycle, we embark upon plastic recycling. The PVC can be stripped away from the cotton backing cloth and reused. Typically, our PVC is re-used in electric wiring. The backing cloth we use is also from recycled cotton.

Independent testing has verified that Ravel is effective at reducing the spread of MRSA, E.coli and other similar bacteria and fungi.

Phthalates are a group of chemical compounds that can be used in the manufacture of PVC. These chemicals release toxins that are harmful to the human body. All of our Chieftain products are Phthalate free.

Due to the PVC coating of the Ravel range and its wipe clean ability, this makes vinyl virtually resistant to most household stains, alkalis or drinks as they are not absorbed by the vinyl.

Wash and Care

Ravel is treated with a stain-resistant finish. Ravel should be cleaned regularly. Remove spillages promptly with an absorbent dry cloth. Solid stains should be removed gently first, before being wiped with an damp cloth in a circular motion. It is essential that all residue is removed from the surface. Do not leave liquids in situ. Do not use solvents, abrasives, synthetic detergents, wax polishes or aerosol sprays.
