Airports are some of the most demanding application areas for furniture. The relentless passage of people through our terminals means that furniture, as well as auxiliary fittings are in use on a twenty four/seven basis.

Chieftain was commissioned by Dublin Airport Authority to assist on the new Terminal Two Building to design and manufacture the most rugged of vinyl fabrics, which could take punishment and a high traffic load, yet look good, stay clean and present minimal ongoing challenges to the maintenance team. For this project we recommended our heavyweight Just Colour range.

This product has been engineered to provide at least 500,000 Martindale rubs and Crib 5 as standard. This quality is reinforced by the ideal blend of a 60/40 polycotton backing cloth. This woven cloth gives the strength and unique shape keeping attribute that distinguishes Just Colour vinyl from the competition.

This project has been in almost constant use for five years and sees almost 20 million passengers per annum. The 75,000m2 terminal, designed by Pascall & Watson is the largest of its kind in Ireland and we are proud to have been a small part of its success.
